We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel for our Legal team, that is situated within BNP Paribas SA Amsterdam Branch.

The position you’re applying for/Your new role
The Senior Legal Counsel is situated within CIB Netherlands in Amsterdam and reports directly to the head of Legal CIB Netherlands.
You are the driving force for new developments and preparing stable delivery of change to production and will overlook the change process from beginning to end. Main goal is to continuously optimize and professionalize CIB Legal Netherlands and to contribute to the CIB Legal and overall strategy.
Your responsibilities
· Providing legal advice, in particular with regards to bilateral and syndicated loan documentation (LMA), security and other ad-hoc documentation
· Negotiating, reviewing and writing banking law related documents, loan contracts and security documentation, templates, tender documents and other legal documents as required by the various business lines
· Rendering effective legal advice and assistance in the preparation of legal opinions, studies, reports and correspondence as required from time to time by offices in- and outside The Netherlands.

Who are you
· Master’s degree in law. Degree in Dutch law is considered a plus
· Additional education in Banking Law such as an LLM would be considered a plus
· 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role within a financial institution or law firm
· Good knowledge of LMA standard documentation
· Ability to analize legal issues quickly and to provide comprehensive and pragmatic solutions
· Ability to draft and edit a variety of documents in English (and preferably Dutch) in a clear and concise manner
· Languages: fluency in English. Dutch is considered a plus.
