London, 24 July 2015 – BNP Paribas Securities Services today announced that its       BNP Paribas Dealing Services subsidiary has been selected to manage the dealing activities of RPMI Railpen, the investment manager for the Railways Pension Scheme (RPS). RPS is the sixth largest pension scheme in the UK.

Following its decision to bring some of its investment activities in house, RPMI Railpen was looking for a dealing desk solution to optimise the execution of its market transactions. They selected Dealing Services after an extensive due diligence process.

Rachit Sharma, Senior Investment Manager at RPMI Railpen, said: “Our decision to select Dealing Services was driven by their team’s expertise across asset classes and their robust technology platform, which will help us develop our new investment process in the long run. We also valued their distinctive broker-neutral positioning and long track record with a wide range of clients.”

Philippe Boulenguiez, Head of Dealing Services at BNP Paribas Securities Services, said: “We are proud to have been selected as RPMI Railpen’s dealing desk and look forward to accompanying them in their new business strategy. Our solution will help them optimise their access to liquidity and benefit from the latest dealing technology, while keeping apace with fast-changing regulatory requirements.”

RPMI Railpen manages the assets of the RPS on behalf of its parent company, the Railways Pension Trustee Company Limited. Railpen Investments, its investment arm, is an FCA authorised investment manager with assets under management exceeding   £21 billion.
